- The Anycubic SP Kobra S1 / S1 Combo Resistance Strain Gauge Module: is the physical contact leveling sensor and load cell bracket integrated into the printhead toolhead of the Kobra S1 series. Rather than relying on non-contact proximity or optical sensors, this module measures the minute mechanical deflection caused when the nozzle tip physically touches the build plate. This enables automatic Z-offset calculation and dynamic mesh bed leveling regardless of the bed sheet surface material (PEI, glass, textured steel).
- Direct Nozzle Bed Leveling: Detects physical contact force directly through the nozzle tip, completely eliminating manual Z-offset adjustments or offset errors caused by nozzle swaps.
- High Sensitivity Load Cell: Built into a flexible aluminum mounting bridge that reacts to micro-gram level changes in vertical pressure when probing the bed mesh matrix.
- Universal Surface Compatibility: Works across all build plate textures and coatings (textured PEI, smooth magnetic sheets, garolite) without calibration shifts.
- Pre-Wired Interface Harness: Comes integrated with high-flex lead wiring and a micro JST connector that plugs directly into the toolhead PCB board.

- Keep Nozzle Clean Prior to Leveling: Always ensure the nozzle tip is free of hardened filament globs before starting Auto-Bed Leveling (ABL). Hardened plastic can trigger the strain gauge prematurely, causing an incorrect (too high) Z-offset.
- Torque Screws Uniformly: When securing the strain gauge bracket to the carriage slab, tighten the mounting bolts evenly without over-torquing, as excessive clamping stress can pre-bias the internal strain gauge resistance.
- Calibrate Bed Mesh Post-Replacement: After replacing part, perform a full Automatic Bed Leveling (ABL) and Z-Offset Calibration from the Kobra S1 touch panel to save the new baseline sensor values.
