Opton 10G-SM-WDM-S5-KIT is a set consisting of two optical inserts designed for use with single-mode fiber. They are intended for transmission over a single optical fiber (WDM) and feature SC/UPC connectors. The connection is established using two channels – 1270 nm and 1330 nm – and the kit includes two different inserts, matched accordingly. The offered product consists of SFP+ modules with a maximum supported throughput of 10 Gb/s. The transmit power range is -8.2 ~ 0.5 dBm, and the receiver sensitivity is -14.4 dBm. The maximum transmission distance is 5 km. The inserts are factory-programmed for Cisco and should be compatible with all devices that do not block third-party modules.Upon request, we program optical modules for use with solutions from other manufacturers.

  • SFP+ Module

The set consists of SFP+ fiber optic modules, supporting throughput of up to 10 Gb/s. This standard is widely used among many products available on the market. It offers ten times the speed of a standard SFP module or a 1G Ethernet port. It is ideal for connecting two locations or transmitting data between network devices, such as between two switches or between a router and a switch.

  • Singlemode Fiber, Range up to 5 km

The offered product is compatible with fiber optic cables equipped with singlemode fiber. This allows for long-range transmission.
The modules feature an optical power output of -8.5 ~ 0.5 dBm and a receiver sensitivity of up to -14.4 dBm. The maximum connection range is 5 km. These modules are primarily suited for in-building connections but can also be successfully used over longer distances.

  • SC/UPC Connector

The modules use standard SC/UPC-type connectors.

WDM (BIDI) Modules
The modules transmit data using a single optical fiber by utilizing two different wavelengths – 1270 nm and 1330 nm. This is especially useful in locations where fiber availability is limited or when leasing fiber lines.
When purchasing the set, you will receive a matched pair of modules. The SFP+ modules are configured to establish a single bi-directional transmission link.

  • Wide Compatibility

Opton SFP+ modules are factory-programmed for Cisco but are compatible with devices from all manufacturers that do not block third-party transceivers. These include, for example: MikroTik, Ubiquiti, TP-Link, D-Link, and Planet.
For systems where the manufacturer enforces a third-party module lock (e.g., HP, Extreme Networks, Aruba), we offer custom programming of the SFP+ modules by our service department. If you have any doubts before purchasing, feel free to contact us.
